ORGANIZATIONS ASSOCIATED WITH THE ASA
Many ASA-sponsored activities are carried out by a variety of organizations. These organizations fall primarily into two groups: Coordinate and Affiliate organizations. Both can apply to hold meetings and events at the ASA annual meeting.
COORDINATE ORGANIZATIONS
Coordinate organizations consist of those organizations that have a scholarly and professional interest in the continent of Africa as a whole and whose primary focus is facilitating the exchange of ideas, information and research findings on Africa. At least 25 of the members of a Coordinate Organization must also be members of the ASA. A brief annual report must be submitted for the previous calendar year to the ASA Secretariat by March 31. Coordinate Organizations will receive one panel without review for each Annual Meeting to be designated as a panel of the organization. Coordinate organizations are welcome to submit other panels for review. If accepted, those panels will also be designated as coordinate organization panels.
